Criminal investigation of Tarpon Police Officer ends

Last Update: 2/19 7:24 am
TARPON SPRINGS, FL -- The criminal investigation of a Tarpon Springs School Resource Officer has concluded.

In November 2008, the Tarpon Springs Police Administration received information that Officer Michael Kazouris was allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17 year-old Tarpon Springs High School student.

Officer Kazouris was immediately placed on administrative leave with pay while a criminal investigation was conducted.

Interim Police Chief Robert Kochen directed the investigation, which found that no crime was committed.

After reviewing the file, Kochen has decided that an internal investigation is necessary to determine if any city or police department policies have been violated.

Action will be taken after the investigation is concluded.
