ORANGE COUNTY, FL -- A man accused of murdering a 23-year-old woman had his young son help get rid of the victim's body, according to investigators.

Lashanda Brand's body was found dumped in a field in Eatonville in late June.  Orange County investigators arrested and charged Alan Jett with her murder.

They now believe Jett had his fifth-grade son participate in the crime.

They say Jett took his son to pick up a prostitute and then killed the woman in his apartment while the boy sat in an adjoining room.

When the victim's body began to decompose, investigators say Jett had his son help load the body in his car and take it to a dumpster next to a wooded area.

They believe Jett intended to put the body in the dumpster but his son wasn't strong enough to lift it.

The boy is now with his aunt in Florida.  The Department of Children and Families is trying to reunite him with his mother in New York.

Jetts remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder.  Deputies have not said how Brand was killed.
