CLEARWATER, FL. -- A Coast Guard Hercules aircraft stationed in Clearwater is part of an effort to find 10 missing Haitian migrant workers.

According to a Coast Guard spokesman, the migrant workers boat went missing off the British Virgin Islands after it ran into a shoal.  The vessel apparently broke apart.

Two people made it to shore. 12 were pulled from the water. One person washed up on shore dead.  Five men, three women, and two children are still missing.

Coast Guard officials believe the group of 25 people were traveling from St. Maarten to the British Virgin Islands on a grossly overloaded boat when the tragedy struck.
