BRANDON, FL -- Chef Emeril Lagasse and I met in New Orleans where I was an anchor there, and we became good friends.

So, when he was in Brandon at the Books a Million signing his new book, "20-40-60", he could not help share some exciting news.

Two years after the Food Network pulled his show "Emeril Live" off the air, Emeril may soon be back on a new show. The super star chef plans on making the big announcement this week, but gave ABC Action News the scoop.

"Somebody does not want 'Emeril Live' to go away. They just want it to be a little bit better," Lagasse said.

"It is not the Food Network. It will be a major network and hopefully it will be a weekly prime time show."

Emeril also said it is a show that will be very different. He is very passionate about the new venture.

"It will be more variety I will have a lot of my celebrity friends on.  Musicians and chefs and it will be a lot of fun. We will cook a little laugh a lot and we will keep it energized. I plan on making the big announcement this week but wanted to tell you."

ABC Action News will air a one on one with Emeril on Your Tampa Bay Weekend next Saturday .

Emeril shared many more big announcements, including a little project involving the White House.
