ORLANDO, FL -- The parents of Casey Anthony won a temporary victory Wednesday in their effort to avoid giving sworn depositions in a civil suit filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.

Attorney Brad Conway filed the motion to keep George and Cindy Anthony from having to answer questions under oath, saying they are not emotionally able to handle testifying in the defamation lawsuit against their daughter.

"They believed that they had a murder case, but they didn't have a body. Now they do, and you can see what it's done to this family," Conway told a judge on Wednesday.

After Caylee Anthony (photos) disappeared, Casey said a woman by the name of Zenaida Gonzalez had kidnapped the toddler, whose remains were later found near the Anthony home.

Gonzalez claims the Anthonys perpetuated accusations that ruined her reputation, including a statement Cindy made about Casey (photos) forgiving Zenaida for taking Caylee.

Conway said the attempt by Gonzalez' attorney to force the Anthonys to give depositions is just a ploy to annoy and embarrass them.

In addition, Gonzalez attorney John Morgan wants to invite the media to videotape the depositions.

The judge decided to delay the depositions and gave Conway 20 days to show evidence that the Anthonys are suffering the psychological stress that he claims in his motion.

The judge also gave the members of the media 20 days to explain why they should be allowed at the depositions.
