Daphne MunroWho doesn't scream for ice cream? But sometimes you scream because the price can be outrageous. But what matters the most, is it taste, calories or price?
We headed over to Ms. Crosby's 5th grade class at Kyrene de la Mirada to see if the kids taste buds would notice the difference.
The kids tried Breyers vanilla ice cream and Breyers sugar free vanilla ice cream.
Both cost $5.69.
The generic vanilla ice cream from Fry's Food Store was almost two dollars cheaper at $3.79.
The kids had no idea which ice cream they tasted.
In the end the winner was clear.
- Of the 25 testers only one preferred Breyers vanilla ice cream.
- Breyers sugar free ice cream came in second with only three votes.
- But these kids are definitely smart shoppers, 22 of them preferred Kroger, Fry's vanilla ice cream.
I have to say with the results, I am totally shocked. I can't believe the Kroger brand won. And that's at least a two-dollar savings compared to the Breyers brand.
So parents, enjoy the savings, cause your kids are going to be happy with generic brand ice cream.
