BRANDON, FL -- A local church switched from Pepsi products to Coca-Cola, but it's not because they don't like the taste of the product.

The Bell Shoals Baptist church in Brandon got rid of the products as part of the American Family Association's boycott.

Church Member Terri Kemple says he convinced the church to join the boycott. "Pepsi is advocating for the normalization of homosexual behavior in our culture," said Kemple.

Kemple says Pepsi has made more than $3 million in contributions toward organizations that advocate homosexuality, like the Human Rights Campaign and the Parents and Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. The group also claims Pepsi's commercials support a gay lifestyle.

A spokesperson with Pepsi says "The grants were made in direct support of safety and respect in the workplace. They do not reflect political or public advocacy of any kind,"said Jenny Schiavone Director Communications for Pepsi.
