Last Update: 7/10/2009 4:39 pm

HUDSON, FL -- Pasco County deputies say a body was found in a car submerged in a canal on Friday.

Detectives found the body of an elderly male in the vehicle this afternoon. The decomposition of the body indicates that it was in the water for a number of days.

The Sheriff's Office says foul play is not suspected at this time.

The vehicle was spotted around 11:15 a.m. at 5931 Sea ranch Road in Hudson.

Divers were working Friday afternoon to remove the victim's body.

No identity has been released.
