TAMPA, FL -- For days, die hard shoppers camped outside the Best Buy on North Dale Mabry in Tampa.  Before the sun rose Friday morning, the urban camping experience ended as the doors opened.

The Jones family set up a tent on Tuesday. The hundreds of dollars saved will now have to be spent on a new tent that was destroyed by rain.

The family had plenty of time to map out a game plan.

Tina Jones planned to grab cameras, a television, cd's, dvd's, and a phone that was free with a 2 year Verizon agreement.

About 50 people were let in at a time. There were plenty of police officers and security guards to prevent fights and a stampede.

Die hard shoppers left happy. A TV that goes for $2,600 went for $1,500 and some computers went for $400.

Shoppers hoping to get deals on iPhones were out of luck. A representative from Best Buy said Apple is strict about discounting products.

Meg Wagner and her family were allowed to enter the store a little early. Wagner won a contest and besides V.I.P. treatment, she also won a $1,000 gift card.

Wagner is a journalism student at the University of Florida. She's looking forward to fixing up her dorm room with her new electronics.

"I'll have the most popular room on the floor," Wagner said.
