DADE CITY, FL -- A Dade City man was shot and killed while riding his bicycle late Sunday night.

Officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the area of 21st Street and Main Avenue when they received a report of gunshots nearby.

A short time later, they found 37-year-old Andy Simonds in the southbound lane of 21st Street.  He had been shot four times in the back.

Simonds was taken to Pasco Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say witnesses could not provide any information other than they heard shots and saw what appeared to be a SUV type vehicle leaving the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dade City Police Department.
