LAND O' LAKES, FL --The Pasco County Sheriff's Department made an arrest in the murder of a 17-year-old.

Tuesday, deputies arrested Douglas Gabriel Cevallos Jr., of 2900 Banyon Hill Lane, for manslaughter.

Deputies say the teen, 17-year-old Dustin Sean White, was shot in the parking lot of the Lake Padgett Estates Clubhouse on Savanah Drive in Land O' Lakes.

Investigators say a party had just ended nearby, and several people gathered there to hang out, when a fight broke out. They say that Cevallos picked up a gun that had been dropped in the fight and fired one shot that killed White.

The clubhouse was closed at the time.

Randy Walker, who didn't know the young man, expressed sadness over the murder, in what he describes as a typically quiet neighborhood.

"I'm sorry for their loss. It's kind of giving me a little chills. It's got to be heartbreaking, and we feel for them." he said.

Those who knew White, a Land O Lakes high school student, can still smile at the thought of him.

Said Jami Inhofer, "He's really goofy and funny and like, he's always like, smiling, he's just really goofy."

Brittany Swanbom says the parking lot where White was shot, now holds both sad and happy memories of Dustin.

"Actually, I grew up with him and we used to come out here and ride our bikes and stuff."
