ST PEETERSBURG, FL – This weekend All Children's Hospital is giving people in the bay area a preview of their new, state-of-the-art hospital. Finishing touches are still being made to the $403 million dollar facility which opens on December 12th.

The new hospital has plenty of important features including: 

  • 97 bed neonatal intensive care unit

  • 12 state-of-the-art operating suites

  • Cardiovascular intensive care unit

  • Vinny Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center

  • Walmart/SAM's Club Pediatric Emergency Center

  • Obstetrics unit/Well-baby nursery (Bayfront Baby Place)

  • 1 Million square feet of combined space

  • Hurricane-resistant design

The new facility was also built with special touches for children and their families. There is a rooftop playground, a children's auditorium, movie theatre, video bingo and even ICEE machines. The hospital also feaures individual rooms with enough space for parents to sleep over while their children are hospitalized. 

Today's Community Preview opens with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 11:00a.m. to noon. A family fun festival including hospital tours runs from noon to 5p.m. The hospital is located at 801 6th Street South in St. Petersburg.
