5 people injured in motorcycle accident

CLEARWATER, FL -- 5 people were injured after a chain reaction crash involving several motorcycles on the Bayside Bridge late Saturday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 4 motorcycles were driving south on Bayside Bridge at a high rate of speed just after 11 pm. The driver of one of the motorcycles, 39-year-old Michael Paras, started to brake, causing the other motorcyclists to run into each other.

4 drivers and one passenger were thrown from the motorcycles. All 5 people were taken to Bayfront Medical Center, including one by helicopter. Injured were Paras, 39,Allen Vanett, 40,  Devon Spencer, 19, Armondo Bonafe, 26, and 25-year-old Felix Borges. Borges suffered minor injuries, the others were seriously hurt.

The crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
