Woman's death on W. Flora St. in Tampa ruled a homicide

A woman found lying in the middle of West Flora Street was the victim of homicide, Tampa police say.

About 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, Tampa police patrol units responded to the 2100 block of W. Flora St. on a reported call of an injured woman with head injuries.

When officers arrived, they found an injured woman in the street. Her injuries were determined not to be accidental. She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died of her injuries. 

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. During the investigation, authorities determined there were multiple scenes involved. 

The woman, identified only as black, was not named, pending notification of next-of-kin.

No arrest has been made. The investigation continues.
