An 80-year-old woman died Saturday night in a single-car accident on 16th Street South in St. Petersburg, officials said.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of 16th Street South.
Lillie P. Addison was behind the wheel of a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier headed northbound when the car drifted into the center turn lane, the St. Petersburg Police Department said. The Cavalier then veered upon a raised median and crashed struck a palm tree.
Addison was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg hospital, where she later passed away.
