VIDEO: President Obama cries as he thanks campaign staff

Obama to staff: I'm proud of you

After forging through a grueling election, President Obama got emotional and shed a few tears Wednesday as he took time to thank his Chicago campaign staff for helping him to get re-elected.

He told his staff, who are mostly 20 to 30-somethings, that their passionate hard work reminded him of himself as a community organizer in Chicago when he was their age.

He even said in many ways, they were smarter and better than him. But he got choked up as he told them he'd come full circle, because the work they've done means that the work he's doing is important.

He wiped his face as he shed tears as and told onlookers that when he first got to Chicago, " I wanted to make sure that my life attached itself to helping kids get a great education or helping people living in poverty to get decent jobs and be able to work and have dignity.  And to make sure that people didn't have to go to the emergency room to get health care," President Obama said.

"I'm really proud of all of you…What you guys accomplished will go on in annals of history," President Obama said.

The moment was captured by the Obama Campaign cameras and posted on Youtube. To see the 5-minute video, watch below.
