VENICE, Calif. - For the eighth year in a row, the folks at JibJab releasing a Year in Review video celebrating the best and, more often, worst mankind had to offer over the past 365 days.
This year's theme pokes fun at the so-called end of the world with the ending of the Mayan calendar on December 21.
The video starts out with some two Maya people saying the signs that the end is here are everywhere with melting polar ice caps, the crisis in Libya and the approaching fiscal cliff.
Then the comedy begins.
There are jokes at the expense of Zumba madame Alexis Wright, cyclist Lance Armstrong and Chick-fil-A CEO S. Truett Cathy.
JibJab pokes fun at Hollywood with
The Avengers dominance at the box office, Disney's purchase of Star Wars, the fascination with Honey Boo Boo and the phenomenon that is Gungnam Style.
Probably the funniest bit in the whole video is the parody of Cecilia Jimenez's art restoration of a church fresco with her altered Jesus Christ mumbling "Oh my God!"
The video then turns its eyes to the political world mocking the use of Columbian prostitutes by secret service agents, General David Petareus' sex scandal, and Clint Eastwood talking to a chair at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
JibJab had to mention the election and shows President Obama and Vice President Biden kicking Mitt Romney, who just happens to be hold binders full of women and a big bird doll.
The video then goes to Mars with a mention of Bobak Ferdowsi, NASA's "Mohawk Guy", and Arnold Schwarzenegger with a Total Recall joke.
There is a tribute to some of the famous people who passed away this year, including Dick Clark, Andy Griffith, Sherman Hemsley, Larry Hagman, Twinkie the Kid, and Neil Armstrong -- who plants an American flag in heaven.
The video wraps up with more humor about Superstorm Sandy, NFL replacement refs and Snookie becoming a mother.
