HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - According to Jimmy Kimmel, he suffered an injury to his face on Saturday while out to lunch.
Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel explained he was out with lunch with his fiancée when he realized he needed to pay for parking. After the waitress took their order, he went back to the car to put money in the parking meter.
Kimmel said when he opened the car door to get quarters, he hit his cheek on the door, causing it to bleed. That's when he said he walked back to the table and used ice from his glass of water to wipe away the blood.
Kimmel added that he stayed to eat lunch with his fiancée before going to the hospital, where he received 11 stitches in his cheek.
He says his eye has gotten blacker every day since the injury occurred. There is one lesson he said he learned: car doors open outwards.
