NEW JERSEY - Female students at a Catholic New Jersey high school have been asked to stop swearing, but that request left many wondering why the boys hadn't been asked to do the same, NBC Philadelphia reports.
The campaign at the Queen of Peace High School asked girls to take a no-curse pledge and "act like ladies", and while the boys were merely asked not to curse in the girls' presence.
Teachers say their hope is if the girls clean up their speech, the boys will be inspired and do the same.
Dana Cotter, a 16-year-old student at the school says males should join the pledge because "boys should be more like gentlemen."
