Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office say their SWAT team has taken a man into custody after he barricaded himself in a vehicle located at East Fletcher Avenue and North Nebraska Avenue on Thursday morning.

The man has been identified as Eddie Carly Colon Soto, 39. Shortly after 9 a.m., SWAT team members and K-9 officers took him into custody after he refused to get out of his vehicle following an accident.

All southbound lanes of Nebraska from Fletcher were shut down, including northbound lanes of Nebraska Avenue from Fowler. Eastbound and westbound lanes of Fletcher are shut down at Nebraska Avenue.

Just after 10 a.m., all lanes were reopened.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the man will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving. The man reportedly got into a T-bone accident at Nebraska and Fletcher. He tried to drive off, but his minivan broke down. Deputies say he was at fault in the accident.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, he refused to get out of the minivan and said that he had a gun. Out of an abundance of caution, the roads were closed until SWAT team members could apprehend the man. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
