A Tuesday news conference provided a new announcement in the case of three young St. Pete teenagers who drowned in a pond earlier this year.

The mother of one of the teens plans to sue the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Read more on this case from our prior coverage in the links below.

Yashica Clemmons is the mother of Dominique Battle, one of the teens who died in the crash. She issued a statement at Tuesday's news conference detailing the intent to take legal action against Pinellas authorities.

The case will likely be a wrongful death civil suit, but her attorney gave no timetable.

We will continue to cover this story as it develops. Check back for updates.
