Pinellas County will launch Operation Pill Drop, a month-long medication collection program, starting Monday, officials said.

From Monday to Nov. 12,  the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will participate in several prescription drug take-back events to provide residents safe, convenient and responsible means of drug disposal, a Pinellas sheriff's office statement said.

During Operation Pill Drop, a Florida Sheriff's Association collaboration, the sheriff's office is setting up prescription drug drop-off stations at different locations each week. Drop off locations will vary throughout the county in addition to the available year-round sites.

Weekly updates with the drop-off locations will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring in expired, unused, or unwanted prescriptions to the following locations this week, Monday, Oct. 17, to Friday, Oct. 21.
6:30 a.m. to  9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Walmart - 35404 US Highway 19 North, Palm Harbor Walgreens - 6560 Ulmerton Road, Largo
