A 29-year-old man was shot dead during a fight in St. Petersburg early Saturday.
Tyrone Walker, 35, told St. Petersburg police officers he was visiting a relative in the area of 14th Avenue and 12th Street South before daybreak Saturday, St. Petersburg police spokeswoman Yolanda Fernandez said.
Walker and another man, later identified as 29-year-old Jay Devonne Powell, who showed up at the house,got into a dispute. Both men were armed.
During the altercation, Walker shot Powell, Fernandez said.
Walker called police and waited at the scene until investigators arrived.
No charges were filed, pending the outcome of the investigation, Fernandez said
