The power was only recently turned back on in Madeira Beach, but the community is already holding a benefit concert for the people still struggling to recover from Hurricane Irma.

The free concert goes until 8:00 p.m. at the Mad Beach Marina Park located in Madeira Beach at 565 150th Avenue.

The event will be accepting donations for Hurricane Irma victims. Volunteers of America of Florida rented a large tractor trailer they are hoping to fill with donated good, like water, non-perishable food items, pet food, baby food, diapers, toiletries, begging, clothing, gift cards, cleaning supplies, and more. Volunteers of America of Florida will then be distributing the donated goods.

What’s more, bringing donated items will get you access to discounted tickets for next week’s concert. Classic rock icons Blue Oyster Cult, and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, will be performing September 30 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the same location. Tickets are $30 for general admission, but only $15 with a hurricane relief donation.

But the music on September 23 is free and features well-known local artists Fred George, Cornfused, Bad Boy Elroy, Rusty Wright Band, Stormbringer and the Greg Billings Band.
