Getting to know Clearwater Police Chief Anthony Holloway with this week's 10 questions

TAMPA - Are you ever curious about the real lives of politicians, celebrities, local newsmakers and athletes?

Each Tuesday, ABC Action News asks 10 questions of a Bay area leader, politician or even national celebrity.

We go beyond the questions that are news of the day. After all sometimes, we want know more about them. What's their favorite music? Biggest regret? And who do they look up to?

This week we hear from Clearwater's top cop, Police Chief Anthony Holloway.

Chief Holloway has been the chief since 2010.

He's very familiar with this department. He joined the force in 1985 as a patrol officer. He served in numerous jobs, among them, a community policing specialist and an undercover vice and narcotics detective. He also served as a patrol sergeant and worked as a sergeant in the economic crimes unit. Holloway was also an assistant division commander as well as a patrol division commander.  

During Chief Holloway tenure with the Clearwater Police Department, he received numerous awards. Among them, the Kiwanis Club/Joseph F. Cornelius Family Foundation Outstanding Police Officer of the Year. A spokesperson said that is the highest honor given by the Clearwater Police Department.

Chief Hollaway ended up retiring from the Clearwater Police Department in 2007.

And it was then he first entered a new role as a chief.

His first top job took him to Somerville, Massachusetts. According to the chief's bio it is a small community that is just over four square miles, population close 77,500.

Chief Holloway oversaw that police department until 2010.

He then returned to his home state of Florida. He is a Tampa native.

He took over the top job at the Clearwater beating out more than 200 candidates.

The police department  is the third largest law enforcement agency in Pinellas county with an annual budget of 37.5 million.

The chief, is married to attorney Andra Dreyfus.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and his Master's degree in Business Administration.

The chief is also active in the community, among his involvements Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

 My family and becoming a Police Chief

 I love World War II movies and documentaries

8. If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President Obama and John F. Kennedy    

9. What is in your fridge right now?
 Better question…. what is not in my fridge?  

10. If you could have a different career, other then what you're doing now, what would it
be?  

A military career
