This week hundreds of thousands tuned into the season premiere of the Bachelor, with Juan Pablo Galavis. A former professional soccer player and single dad looking for love.
Show producers said there were so much interest in Juan Pablo, they decided to have him meet 27 women rather than the typical 25.
Among those-a true beauty from Tampa. Communications Director Alexis Morgado.
Although she was already selected to be on the season before producers made the announcement it would be Juan Pablo. She said she was pleased to learn it was him. She said,
"I was excited when I found out it was Juan Pablo because I knew as Hispanics we share many commonalities."
But, to my utter surprise and I am sure to the shock of many others, Alexis did not get a rose and was sent home on the first night.
I say I was surprised for multiple reasons. She of course is a lovely young lady, but there was also a lot of promotion around Alexis as well.
The app Viggle, which encourages people to check into their favorite shows for points, had a play along live feature. Two of their questions were on Alexis prompting many to believe she would get very far.
In addition, a film crew came to Tampa months before the debut to put together a video of Alexis in her home town. Including taking video of her rollerblading on Bayshore Boulevard, working at her office, in her home and at the Tampa Bay Times Forum where Alexis is in her second season as a Tampa Bay Lightning Cheerleader.
Well, Jaun Pablo sent her home. Good news for someone out there!
Alexis is 25 years old. She is the eldest of three girls and was born and raised in Tampa.
She attended Jefferson High School. She said during her high school years she was heavily involved in academics and sports.
Alexis said she played varsity softball for four years. She was on the cheerleading and dance team.
And, what an accomplished young lady, she graduated as the Salutatorian of her high school class!
Alexis is a go-getter and very determined. She then went on to the University of South Florida. She graduated with a mass communications degree with a minor in business.
She did this in record time which you will read in her answers below.
Currently, Alexis is the communications director for her famiy's business Flayco Products, a company that manufactures seasonings, sauces, juices, food colorings and flavor extracts. To learn more you can head to www.flayco.com
And, as you read above she is in her second season as a Tampa Bay Lightning Cheerleader.
In her spare time she said she enjoys working out, going to the beach and traveling.
While she did not go further on the Bachelor, Alexis said Juan Pablo is attractive and fun to be around. She also has absolutely no regrets.
She said it was not only was it an experience of a lifetime, but she also had the chance to meet some remarkable woman. She still keeps in touch with some.
And, Alexis hasn't ruled reality television out. She said she would be interested in the Bachelor/Bachelorette spin off Bachelor Pad if producers came calling.
