An intoxicated father damaged a room at the Loews Don CeSar Hotel, but placed the blame on his four-year-old son.
This week, a Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy responded to the hotel after a report of an intoxicated man who was causing damage to one of the hotel rooms.
A manager advised the deputy that Justin Alexander, of Arizona, broke a $700 television and caused $1,000 in damages to a window. According to an arrest affidavit, Alexander was uncooperative and told the deputy his son caused the damage.
Alexander's girlfriend didn't confirm the statement. Instead, she said Alexander was upset from an earlier argument. She left him in the hotel room by himself.
Alexander was arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
