After weeks of grueling practices, ABC Action News Weekend anchor James Tully straps on his dancing shoes with a purpose tonight.

The annual event that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities and good causes throughout the Tampa Bay area is set to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.  The cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m.

Dancing enthusiasts will gather for the event at T Pepin Hospitality Centre, 4121 N. 50th St. in Tampa. It is a black tie/formal affair.

Among the worthy beneficiaries is the Kimberly Home and its Pregnancy Resource Center, which helps young women and mothers in need of assistance.

On Saturday, Kathleen Kelly of the Kimberly Home and Scott Rehm, chairman of the board of directors at Kimberly Home, dropped by ABC Action News Studios to talk about how proceeds from DWTS with help many worthy families.

ABC Action News anchors Jamison Uhler and Wendy Ryan will serve as emcees at this year's Dancing With The Stars celebration.
