Lisa Rae Claffey was hired to serve as a caregiver for a 96-year-old Pinellas County woman.
Pinellas County sheriff's deputies said Claffey was stealing from her. They arrested Claffey Wednesday and charged her with one count of grand theft from a person 65 years of age or older.
She was taken to the Pinellas County Jail for booking.
Detectives in the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Economic Crimes Unit began investigating reports that unauthorized amounts of money was missing from the victim's bank account in August.
Authorities made an arrest following a six-month investigation
