Less than hour after the first 911 came into the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office two teenagers were arrested along with all of their loot.
It was a fast end to a busy night for two Pinellas County teenagers. The 14 and 15 year olds were arrested after fleeing K9 officers in a stolen vehicle less than an hour after a woman out walking her dog noticed them snooping around cars in her neighborhood.
“I saw two kids running across the street,” Judy Tsiguloff said. “I saw them come running back to the next house and I thought that looked a little strange. Then, I noticed the vehicle was coming down the street without its lights on and that put my sensors out something's not right here.”
Tsiguloff grabbed her dog Chasta and went back to her home and called 911.
A few houses down, before deputies could arrive, Lana Beck’s Nissan Rogue was getting stolen out of her driveway.
“I do feel violated,” Beck said. “I am just trying to update the safety measures I have on my property. These kids are armed and my understanding is they are young and I really feel bad for their parents.”
Beck found a flashlight and knife in her driveway after the teens left in her stolen SUV.
Because the teens arrested are juveniles ABC Action News will not identify them.
We do know the 15-year-old has been arrested for at least 5 felonies in the past year and is currently on a list of violent teen offenders in Pinellas County.
The Habitual Offender Monitoring Enforcement (HOME) task force was created in the hope extra monitoring of high risk youth would stop crimes like this from happening.
Deputies found numerous stolen purses and key fobs inside the stolen SUV.
Detectives confirmed the stolen items were linked to the burglaries in the Seminole neighborhood.
Deputies continue to search for any other suspect’s involved in Tuesday morning’s crime spree.
