Bar owner to open salvage warehouse in St. Pete

Warehouse should open in the summer

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Mark Ferguson, the owner of Ferg's Sports Bar and Grille in St. Petersburg, will open an architectural salvage warehouse in St. Petersburg in two to three months.

The business, called Phase 2 Architecture Salvage Warehouse, will be at the old location of Harold's Autobody at First Avenue South and 20th Street.

Ferguson said he and his brother have collected about 6 acres worth of "stuff" over the past 22 years and that it's time to sell some of it.

Among the items he would like to get rid of: Nine bowling lanes worth of flooring from a defunct Pinellas County bowling alley, a mobile staircase meant to be used for a small airplane, and truckloads of shelving from various stores.

"We hope a lot of people come by just to see what we have. Somebody might find a treasure in all of this," Ferguson said.

The planned hours for the store are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. Ferguson said the store will take a limited number of items on consignment.

He hopes to also host concerts at the warehouse, with some of the proceeds going to various charities.
