An eagle that flew into the windshield of a Jeep Cherokee on the Florida Turnpike near St. Cloud in Osceola County Tuesday is expected to recover, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The bird flew into the path of a northbound Jeep on the Florida Turnpike at Milepost 230. The eagle was stunned by the impact. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

State Trooper Julio Velez rescued the American bald eagle and took it to the Birds of Prey Center in Maitland for treatment.
