5 things you need to know happening in Florida on Wednesday, November 7

TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Wednesday, November 7.

(1) Interstate 275 traffic pattern change

Road construction crews will begin making traffic changes on southbound Interstate 275 in Tampa on Wednesday night.

The changes are a part of the new I-275 reconstruction project from east of State Road 60 to the Hillsborough River (downtown Tampa).

Workers will be switching the Howard and Armenia Avenues exit ramps from the right side to the left side of the road. The Himes Avenue exit ramp will remain on the right side of the road, but it will be moved closer to Himes and have its length shortened.

The change is scheduled to be completed by rush hour on Thursday morning.

(2) Casey Anthony motion hearing

A motion hearing in the Casey Anthony defamation lawsuit is scheduled for Orlando on Wednesday.

Anthony's lawyers will ask a judge to throw out a punitive damage claim that's part of the lawsuit filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.

Fernandez-Gonzalez is suing Anthony because Anthony told authorities in 2008 that a nanny with the name of Zenaida Gonzalez had kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

During Anthony's murder trial for killing her daughter, which she was acquitted of, Casey's defense team admitted the nanny did not exist.

Today's hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

The defamation lawsuit trial is scheduled to begin on January 3, 2013.

(3) The National Symphony of Cuba

The Florida Orchestra (TFO) is hosting the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba (NSOC) in a special concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg on Thursday.

Parts of the program will be conducted by the NSOC's Music Director Enrique Pérez Mesa, who guest conducted with the TFO in May.

The concert will feature Cuban pianist Ignacio "Nachito" Herrera on a program of Gershwin's Cuban Overture, Nachito Herrera's arrangement and Tribute to Lecuona, López-Gavilán's Guaguancó and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5

Some works will be conducted by composer and conductor Guido López-Gavilán.

The Florida Orchestra will not be performing at the event.
