TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Wednesday, March 6.
(1) USF National Day of Action
Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society will host a rally in support of Education Rights at the University of South Florida on Wednesday.
Tampa Bay SDS is calling for students to fight back against tuition hikes, free speech attacks, and corporate influence at USF.
The rally will begin at the USF Marshall Student Center at noon.
Students will then march to the Patel Center for Global Solutions to present the President of the University's office with a list of demands. They will ask for the end of tuition hikes and cuts to programs, an independent audit of the University, and a plan to include students and workers in decision made at USF.
The National Day of Action for Education Rights is taking place on March 14, but because that falls during USF's spring break, Tampa Bay SDS decided to hold its rally today.

(2) 2013 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
The 2013 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival opens on Wednesday at Walt Disney World.
Besides the amazing floral displays and presentations by HGTV hosts, the Festival features a number of new items.
There will be new topiaries of Mickey Mouse, Mike and Sully from Monsters University; as well as characters from Cars and Phineas and Ferb.
The new The Land of Oz play area for children features equipment adorned with flowers, settings and props similar to what's seen in the upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful movie.

(3) American Heroes Day at the Florida Strawberry Festival
Wednesday is Grow Financial American Heroes Day at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City.
"We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to sponsor Heroes Day at the Florida Strawberry Festival," says Allen Milliron, Grow Financial Director of Corporate Sponsorships. "It is a perfect tie-in for Grow Financial since we have a strong commitment to the military."

(4) The Florida Wetlands Trail reopens
The Florida Aquarium is opening their transformed Florida Wetlands Trail on Wednesday.
The trail will take guests on a journey through the Florida Wetlands underneath the Aquarium's iconic dome. The trial is filled with alligators, otters, free flying birds and now two 14-foot Burmese Pythons.
"This impressive trail invites guests to rediscover adventure as well as learn more about the native and invasive species in the Florida Wetlands," said Thom Stork, president and CEO of The Florida Aquarium. "Learning about our wetlands, the animals that live there and what we can do to protect them and the ecosystem was a key piece in designing this trial."
Invasive species like the pythons have wreaked havoc on the ecosystem in the Everglades. Originally from Southeast Asia, the population of Burmese Pythons in South Florida has exploded a result of pet owners releasing them into the wild when they could no longer take care of them.
There are now an estimated 150,000 Burmese Pythons living in the wild in Florida.
