TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Wednesday, December 18.
(1) Governor Rick Scott report card
A group of Floridians will deliver a report card to Governor Rick Scott on Wednesday outlying his performance this year in six categories.
The group will assign Governor Scott grades for supporting public schools, jobs, minority outreach, employee management, public health, and protecting special interests.
The report card will be displayed for the public to see on a large poster board at the State Capitol in Tallahassee beginning at 11:30 a.m.
(2) Chuck Harmon's last day
Wednesday will be the last day at work for St. Petersburg Police Chief Chuck Harmon.
The Chief has already cleaned out his office and is making his last day at the department to be low key.
A formal ceremony will be held on Chief Harmon's last official day will be January 6, the day he hands in his badge. He is using up time off and vacation days after today until his retirement day.
Harmon has spent the past twelve years as St. Petersburg's Police Chief.
According the Tampa Bay Times, Chief Harmon plans to spend more time with his wife and three children in retirement. He hopes to be able to play more golf, go fishing more often and finally travel to Europe.
(3) IndyCar Series testing at Sebring
Seven IndyCar Series teams are scheduled to test at Sebring International Raceway on Wednesday.
The testing will allow the teams to test potential drivers for the upcoming season.
Drivers expected to test include Mike Conway (Ed Carpenter Racing); Marco Andretti, James Hinchcliffe and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport); Jack Hawksworth and Giuseppe Cipriani (Dale Coyne Racing); Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Racing); Josef Newgarden (Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing); Simon Pagenaud and Mikhail Aleshin (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports); and Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing).
The IndyCar Series season opens on March 30 in St. Petersburg with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg,
(4) Battle at the Babe
The Tampa Sports Authority will hold its annual Battle at the Babe exhibition golf match in Tampa on Wednesday.
The event features top professionals and some of the Tampa Bay area's best amateur golfers in a mixed team, four ball format.
Spectators are welcome for $10 which will allow you to walk the course. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the First Tee of Tampa Bay's youth golf programs.
The event begins at 9:00 a.m. Babe Zaharias Golf Course is located at 11412 Forest Hills Drive in Tampa.
(5) 93.3FLZ's Jingle Ball
93.3FLZ's annual star-studded holiday concert Jingle Ball is being held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Wednesday night.
Performers include Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Flo Rida, Paramore, Austin Mahone, Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo, Fifth Harmony and Travie McCoy.
The Jingle Ball begins at 7:30 p.m. Ticket holders can begin entering the Forum starting at 6:30 p.m.
The event will kick off with the Jingle Ball "Pre-Show Free Show" on the Plaza, a free public celebration outside the Forum. The free show includes performances by fan favorites Fifth Harmony, Travie McCoy, Austin Mahone and Tegan & Sara.
