TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

(1) McKeel Academy of Technology AP History retesting

Over one hundred students at McKeel Academy of Technology in Lakeland could retake AP History tests on Thursday.

The test results for 165 students were invalidated because the school administered the test incorrectly. The students were allowed to take their AP test facing each other, a violation of the rules set forward by the College Board, the organization that creates the tests.

The tests invalidated were the AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP European History and AP Human Geography tests.

At least 30 of the students say they are planning to skip the retest.

(2) Buccaneers mini-camp ends

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will conclude their three-day mandatory mini-camp at One Buccaneer Place on Thursday. Six free agent players are trying to impress the coaching staff enough to earn a spot on the 90-man roster.

The next time Bucs players will hit the field after today will be during training camp. Camp is scheduled to begin on July 25.

Fans are invited to watch a dozen practices in their entirety over a three-week span at One Buccaneer Place. Admission and parking are free during the public training camp practices.

(3) Sunshine State Cluster AKC Dog Show

The St Petersburg Dog Fanciers and Greater Venice Florida Dog Club are co-hosting the Sunshine State Cluster AKC Dog Show which begins at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Thursday.

Previously the two dog clubs held separate events. This year there are 5,389 dogs entered to compete in the show.

In addition to All-Breed Shows, there will Specialty Shows including shows for puppies. There will also be vendors selling dog-related items.

The four-day show is being held inside the air-conditioned Expo Center. Admission is $5 for adults. Children are free.

(4) Adventure Island's Island Nights

Adventure Island starts its family-friendly Island Nights summer event on Thursday. From today through August 9, the Tampa waterpark will be open extended hours until 9:00 p.m.

Island Nights features live music, a food truck, Kid's Zone DJ, sand sculptures, street performers, stilt walkers and a steel drum band.

Each night during Island Nights there will be a grand finale celebration at 8:30 p.m. that features high-energy music and LED-lit entertainment.

(5) Wet 'N Wild's Aqua Drag Racer opens

Wet 'n Wild Orlando will open up its newest attraction for guest on Thursday.

Aqua Drag Racer is six-stories tall with four parallel racing lanes. Park officials say it is Florida's tallest and fastest water-based racing attraction of its kind.

Guest will travel through enclosed braided, twisting tunnels at speeds reaching fifteen feet per second.

In celebration of the opening of Aqua Drag Racer, the first 500 guests to enter the park today will be given a pass into the 'fast lane' with a one-time Express Pass wristband.
