TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Thursday, April 24, 2014.

(1) IIFA Rocks

International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) events continue in Tampa on Thursday.

The IIFA Rocks event at the Tampa Convention Center tonight combines the best in Indian fashion and music. It is being hosted by Gauhar Khan and IIFA nominee Vivek Oberoi.

IIFA Rocks will showcase leading Indian designers Vikram Phadnis and Manish Malhotra, and U.S.-based Amita Bal.

Featured musicial performers tonight include maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan; playback singers Monali Thakur, Bhoomi Trivedi, Ankit Tiwari; and percussionist DJ Ravi Drums.

The Green Carpet arrivals will occur from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. outside the Convention Center. The main IIFA Rocks event is being held from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

(2) Bass Pro Shops groundbreaking

Construction will officially begin on the new Bass Pro Shops in Brandon on Thursday.

County officials, project developers and Bass Pro Shop managers will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony at the The Estuary shopping plaza at 11:15 a.m.

Local leader hope 150,000-square-foot store will become a regional destination for people who enjoy outdoor activities. The store will carry a large line of fishing, camping, hunting gear. It will also have a fishing pond and a restaurant.

County officials approved the project in 2012 despite objection from small business owners who believe they would be hurt by a store of its size.

The Bass Pro Shops store is scheduled to open in the spring of 2015.

(3) Ehrlich Branch Post Office relocation meeting

The U.S. Postal Service will hold a meeting on Thursday to discussed the proposed relocation of the Ehrlich Branch Post Office.

Currently the branch is located in the Target shopping plaza at Ehrlich Road and Dale Mabry Highway. Postal authorities would like to move it to a yet-to-be-determined location within in the same 33618 ZIP Code.

A move would not change mail delivery and all Post Office Box numbers would stay the same.

During the meeting officials will explain the relocation proposal and answer questions any customers may have. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.

(4) 2014 Bern's Winefest

Bern's Steakhouse opens its 2014 Winefest on Thursday. The four-day event combines great food with wines from across the world.

There are ten different Winefest events being held at Bern's, SideBern's and the new Epicurean Hotel.

The is no enforced dress code for Winefest events, but shorts and t-shirts are not appropriate attire for evening events. No one under the age of 21, including children in strollers, will be admitted to Winefest.

(5) 21st annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Thursday is the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.

The day encourages girls and boys throughout America to dream about a future without limitations based on gender.

Originally founded by Glorida Steinmen and the Ms. Foundation for Women in 1993, the program expanded to include boys in 2003.

The day has generally been scheduled on a school day with schools encouraged to promote the program. Educators are provided with materials for incorporating career exploration into school curricula.
