TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Friday, December 27.

(1) UCF Knights begin preparations in Arizona

The University of Central Florida football team begins preparations in Arizona on Friday for their first ever BCS Bowl.

Players and coaches left the football practice facility next to Bright House Networks Stadium and went to Orlando-Sanford International Airport on Thursday. The team then flew to Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

The 15th-ranked Knights will face the Baylor Bears on January 1 in 2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

UCF went undefeated in the American Athletic Conference in 2013 and finished with a 11-1 record. Baylor won the Big 12 Conference and also ended the regular season with a 11-1 record.

The Knights are 16.5 point underdog in the game. The game kicks off at 8:30 p.m. on January 1 and will be televised on ESPN.

(2) Sarasota "Tweet from the Beat"

The Sarasota Police Department want you to join them for a virtual ride-along on Friday.

The "Tweet from the Beat" allows people who follow Sarasota Police on Twitter to experience a day in the life of officers.

Throughout the day, Officer Michael Skinner and other officers will share what they see and do through texts, videos and photos tweets from their beat through the department's Partnership Policing Communications Coordinator.

People following @SarasotaPD will be able to ask questions and interact with officers.

"This event is a great opportunity for our local and virtual community to interact and let our officers communicate with the city we protect and serve," said Captain Pat Robinson, Bureau of Patrol Operations, Sarasota Police Department.

(3) Happy Feet free screening

Sunset Cinema at Pier 60 will host a free outdoor screening of the children's movie Happy Feet on Friday night.

The movie will start at approximately 6:00 p.m., shortly after dusk, weather permitting.

Attendees can bring a blanket or low sitting chair to watch the movie on a jumbo screen. Popcorn and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Sunset Cinema is located at 10 Pier 60 Drive on Clearwater Beach.

(4) Kansas in concert

Legendary rock band Kansas will perform at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa on Friday night.

The group is celebrating their 40th year together. They got their start at a garage band in Topeka.

Kansas released its firm album in 1974. During their career, the band released eight platinum-selling albums but is best known for their hit singles Dust in the Wind and Carry on Wayward Son.

The line-up is made up of original singer/keyboardist Steve Walsh, original guitarist Richard Williams, original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist Billy Greer, and violinist David Ragsdale.

(5) ZZ Top in concert

Rock band ZZ Top will perform in concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Friday night.

The band claims to be the longest running major rock band with its original lineup still intact. The trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard formed ZZ Top in Houston in 1969. Their third album, 1973's Tres Hombres, got them national attention with the hit single La Grange.

Tonight's concert will be the third time the group is playing Ruth Eckerd Hall.
