5 things to know for Sunday, January 12

TAMPA BAY - 1. Playoff games continue today with the 49ers taking on the Carolina Panthers at 1:05 p.m. Then the Chargers play the Denver Broncos later at 4p.m.

2. The Tampa Museum of Art is hosting a special admissions day. They are offering "Pay As You Will" admissions which will allow access to all of the galleries as well as some special activities.

3. One of the biggest wheelchair rugby tournaments is taking place today in Tampa. The games start at 9 a.m. and the championship game will be at noon. Admission is free at All People's Life Center on Sligh Avenue.

4. If you live in Sarasota you might mistake the roar of motorcycles for thunder today. The 16th annual Thunder by the Bay kicks off at 11 a.m. in downtown Sarasota. The event is a fundraiser to help Suncoast Charities for Children. Admission is free.

5. Preparations are underway for the infamous pirate invasion coming our way in the coming weeks. The 60th anniversary of Gasparilla is gearing up with set up along Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa. The children's parade is next Saturday with the invasion and adult parade January 25.
