5 things to know for Saturday, December 14, 2013

TAMPA, Fla. - 1. Practice your high kicks and get ready, because the Rockettes are in town! Tickets are $35-$120. The ladies take stage at the Straz Center in Tampa. Click here to learn more about show times and ticket purchasing.

2. The 47th annual Festival of Lights Holiday boat parade set sails tonight. The parade will start at John's Pass at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 10 p.m.

3. Ybor is getting a fresh coat of snow this weekend. Snow will fall from the rooftops along 7th Avenue while Tampa's largest marching band parade makes it's way through the historical district. Holiday entertainment starts at 6 p.m. with the parade moving out at 7 p.m.

4. If you are a history buff and want to take a stroll back in time for the holidays check out Temple Terrace Victorian Christmas Stroll. Tours start at 11 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. starting at Safford House Museum. Tickets are $10, $6 for members and children. 

5. Several Christmas parades are today. Tarpon Springs' parade starts at 10 a.m. at the Winn Dixie Plaza on Alternate 19, Brooksville's parade also starts at 10 a.m. parking is available at Hernando High School. Saint Pete Beach has their parade at 4 p.m. the route starts at Gulf Boulevard.
