Is texting while driving an addiction or compulsion? New research could help save a life

Most of us either text or check messages while driving. Are we addicted or could it be a disorder?
The dean of USF's College of Business is researching the reason so many people text and drive. "If we want to alleviate this phenomenon, we have to understand the causes," Robert Forsythe says. 
Most current studies look at the problem as an addiction but he thinks something else is driving us to this behavior and new research may show us the motivation and the fix for this growing but dangerous phenomenon.
