Hostess Brands says new twinkies will have a shelf life of 45 days

TAMPA, FL - Last year, Hostess went bankrupt after a union went on strike over a labor contract that cut wages and benefits.  Twinkies and other Hostess snacks were pulled off store shelves.

Now those snacks are set to hit store shelves again next week.  Hostess says freezing Twinkies before shipping will give them a longer shelf life.

A company spokesperson says it will not affect the same taste people have enjoyed for years.  But not all stores will receive frozen Twinkies.  Companies can choose whether the snacks are shipped frozen.
