Worker dies after fall at Tampa Electric plant

A 31-year-old worker died Monday after falling from a cat walk at an old Tampa Electric plant, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Bryan Hagan of Mulberry, who worked for the Southeastern Construction and Maintenance Company, was helping to dismantle the former plant at 3602 Port Sutton Road when he fell through a grate on a cat walk, deputies said. He fell about 45 to 50 feet to the ground.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
