Veteran's service dog missing after crash

A Tampa veteran is searching for his missing service dog.
Luke Macner, of Tampa, was paired with the German Shepherd on Thursday after a lengthy search for a compatible animal, according to Pets for Patriots, a nonprofit that pairs veterans with homeless dogs and cats.

After picking up the dog, Nina, he got into a crash at Causeway Boulevard and U.S. 41 and the dog ran away.

Nina is full grown with a timid temperament, said Kate Trujillo, a Pets for Patriots employee. She was wearing a green collar and a rabies ID tag. She also has a microchip.

If you have information, call Trujillo at 609-575-7709 or Macner at 813-638-2538
