Two men arrested in Tampa bank robbery

Tampa police arrested two men Friday suspected of robbing the Fifth Third Bank on West Swann Avenue.

Kevrick Brown, 26, and Erskine Mckinley, 24, are accused of entering the bank about 10 a.m. armed with a Mac-10 style firearm. According to Tampa Police Department, the suspects fled the bank in a stolen vehicle, which they abandoned within blocks of the bank. Police believe the robbery is linked to another that occurred at the BB&T bank at West Gandy Boulevard and South Himes Avenue.

Officers tracked the men to a West Ballast Point address, where they took them into custody. Officers found a .45 caliber Mac-10 style firearm at the address along with gloves and a bag used in the robbery.

The men are charged with armed robbery with a firearm.

McKinley had been released from prison in July after serving six years in an robbery and attempted murder case in Palm Beach County.
