Oh, the irony: A local ice cream shop had to shut its doors days after its grand opening in Seminole Heights because its air conditioner broke.

Bill Workman, owner of The Revolution Ice Cream Company, said he didn't realize at first that the air conditioner in his new rental space was broken.

"We knew it was a little warm when we were working," he said.

Workman said it got to the point where his product wasn't like it should be.

"I knew there were people not happy," he said.

Just days after opening, Workman shut down his new store to get the AC fixed.

Right now his ice cream flavors sit in a deep freezer that is working just fine to keep the rest of his product cold.

Workman owns a Brandon location, and says this is what you have to expect when owning a small business.

"You just have to roll with the punches when you own a small business, stuff always happens," he said.

The shop should be back open by Friday when a new unit will be put in.
