Teen charged in Seffner middle school stabbing

SEFFNER, Fla. - A 15-year-old boy was charged Wednesday with stabbing a 14-year-old boy at Jennings Middle School in Seffner.

The victim was stabbed around 8:45 a.m. on the school grounds at 9325 Governor's Run Drive, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office statement.

It was not immediately clear what transpired prior to the stabbing.

The 15-year-old was armed with a 4-inch serrated steak knife and stabbed the victim in the back, deputies say.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

His assailant was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center on charges of aggravated battery with deadly weapon and possession of a weapon on school grounds, according to the statement.
