A dramatic scene played out Wednesday on Interstate 75 as two suspected robbers led Hillsborough County deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in gunfire.
Now we're hearing from the RadioShack clerk who was held up by those suspects.
Janet Huerta said she was checking out a customer when the robber, whom police identified as Jovanny Pena, grabbed the customer around her neck with his forearm and pointed a gun at both women.
The robber demanded they both move to the back of the store.
Huerta said she replayed those moments in her head several times Thursday, mostly thinking of her 2-year-old son and wondering if she’d ever see him again.
Huerta said the robber told everyone to put their noses to the floor after taking their cellphones and wallets.
"The whole entire time the only thing I was thinking about was my son, and as a mother, that's all you think about,” Huerta said. “I'm just glad I'm back home with my son."
Both suspects in this case are in custody. They’re facing a laundry list of charges ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping.
