Man shot twice after heated argument

TAMPA - Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man believed to have been involved in an attempted murder early Sunday morning.

Jose Aviles-Maldonado, 34, allegedly approached the victim, Brian Agee, 43, in his 1999 blue SUV on the corner of 139 th Avenue and 15 th Street in Tampa.

Police say the two men became involved in an argument.

The arguments escalated to the point were Maldonado got out of his car flashed a handgun, aimed it at Agee and fired twice, striking him in the abdomen and the right arm.

Maldonado fled the scene in his SUV.

Agee was later transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Maldonado is described as a 5'9 to 5'11, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing shorts, a hat and a gray sweat shirt.

A warrant has been issued for the Maldonado. If anyone knows his whereabouts they are asked to call Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
