A Hillsborough County detention deputy was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of pointing his personal handgun at a driver during a road rage incident.
Reginald J. Migues, 54, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The confrontation occurred about 10:30 a.m. as Migues argued with Arthur Langley, 41, of Tampa along Williams Road and U.S. 92 in Seffner, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The men pulled off into a parking lot at 5520 Carmack Road.
Migues left his vehicle and approached Langley, who also got out of his vehicle, deputies said. Migues pulled out his .40-caliber handgun, chambered a round and pointed the weapon at Langley.
Langley got back into his vehicle and dialed 911, deputies said, and Migues returned to his car.
During the ensuing investigation, Migues told deputies he chambered a round as he approached Langley, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He was released from Orient Road Jail after posting a $2,000 bond.
Migues, who has been suspended without pay, has worked for the Sheriff's Office for 11 years. His last assignment was at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
